In many churches, the service program looks like this:

* Opening Prayer

* Praise & Worship

* Testimonies

* Sermon

* Offering

* Closing Prayer / Charge

* After Service Meetings

* Go home.

Ok. The last two don’t make it to the program, but they happen.

Get the Worship Song wrong, and the Choir might just have ruined someone’s entire service.

You could hear phrases like “The Praise and Worship wasn’t it for me today”. “If only the Worship was spot on, I would have connected”. “I couldn’t connect to God in Church today, the worship song the Choir sang ‘shut me out’ of the holy of holies.

You get the idea.

But is worship limited to the careful arrangement of instruments and songs belting out – Igwe! Or in my zone – Like an Avalanche?

Worship is more than a song.

I believe our entire being, our existence, our work, our business, our hobbies are all instruments of worship. We worship God with ALL that we are and with ALL that we have.

To be a worshiper and to worship God in Spirit and in Truth doesn’t require songs, it requires brokenness, an admission that God is your all and He deserves reverent worship!

When you reach this point, songs from within will begin to erupt!

I love Matt Redman’s hit song – The Heart of Worship

When the music fades
and all is stripped away
and I simply come.
Longing just to bring
something that’s of worth
that will bless Your heart.
I’ll bring You more than a song,
for a song in itself
is not what You have required.
You search much deeper within,
through the way things appear,
You’re looking into my heart.
I’m coming back to the heart of worship
and it’s all about You, it’s all about You, Jesus.
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
when it’s all about You, it’s all about You, Jesus.

This coming Sunday evening, we are making it ALL ABOUT JESUS.
