I only have a few verses of Scripture to support my perspective in this post.
I guess I should find more for you, but I am too excited that I couldn’t wait to share it with you.
So rather than doing all the research, I will like you to chip in with your contributions.
Pleasing God is something we were created to do. (Ephesians 2:10 – paraphrased)
We are made for his pleasure.
But pleasing God requires something many Christians supposedly lack – Faith.
Hebrews 11:6 (“..without Faith, it is impossible to please God).
Then I stumbled (ok, I didn’t stumble, I already knew the verse but stumble just seemed like a nice dramatic word).
Then I read about how you already have everything you need to please God ‘out of the box’.
In 2013, I released an Amazon category bestselling book on Discipleship to help new converts understand the basics of Christianity through a 40 Days Devotional with crossword puzzles.
Part of the lessons in the book is – Faith must first be deployed in becoming a Christian.
In fact, without Faith, it is impossible to be a Christian. (Is there a verse in the bible like that?
Anyways, I found this – Ephesians 2:8. – For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.(emphasis mine)(NIV)
So you were saved by grace through faith.
Paul then writes it plainly in Romans 12:3 that everyone of you has been given a measure of faith (so don’t think yourself highly than others)
In other words, the ability to please God was one thing God made sure every Christian had ‘out of the box’. It was bundled with your salvation. (Tweet this)
So when it says “…without faith it is impossible to please God” Of course it is impossible because he who comes to God must first believe (salvation) that He is and he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.
The good thing is, if you are Christian, you have done the believing at least once. All you need to do is just to keep believing.
I have a question though.
How much faith does it take to please God?
Sincerely, I don’t know, but I know that to move a mighty mountain you need faith that is as big as the very tiny mustard seed.
To please God, I don’t think you need much more than that.
And you already have a measure of Faith.
So don’t allow guilt or lies or tricks of the devil make you feel like an outcast.
You are a God pleaser, just continue to please him.
PS: Ibukun but, I am a Christian and I find myself doing things that don’t please God.
So I try not to find myself doing things, instead I started deciding to do things such as read my bible and pray every day.
You already have what it takes. Read your bible and pray every day too.
