Top Level overview of the 2014 Mind and Mouth readership survey

I appreciate everyone who took the survey and there is one MAJOR thing the survey has done. It has helped me to better FOCUS my plans and this will benefit you greatly because it helps me improve the content I create.

If I boiled down the results into a ‘reader profile’ it would look like this:

  • The typical reader is a male (62.89%) between the ages of 30 – 39 (58%). Female readers make up the remaining 37%.
  • He is a Business Owner or entrepreneur (36%) and a corporate leader (26%)
  • He is a Christian (98%) and his faith is very important to him (90%)
  • He is comfortable with the way I talk about Christianity (67%)
  • He enjoys the Self Improvement category of Mind and Mouth the most (82%) followed by Faith related articles 61%
  • He is interested in personal development and willing to invest to grow and develop to be a high achiever.

How does this benefit you?

Here are a few things I plan on improving and implementing straightaway.

1.)    Write more Faith based articles – You can see over the past week that I have moved a bit more in this direction. A few people have unsubscribed, but the majority of my readers are happy to be encouraged using God’s word. This also means digging into the archives to unveil previous articles.

2.)    Focus more on Personal Development, Leadership, Business, Career and Online marketing topics. – While I won’t just give you tips and tricks, I will do my best to ensure you live an intentional life and continue to grow and develop every day and get the support of everyone in this community. This however means one thing for you; you need to participate by commenting on articles on the blog and sharing your knowledge.

3.)    Business and Career resources – I will do more to bring you resources to grow your businesses and excel in your career.  Some of this I already handle for private clients, but I will make them more open and accessible to you for free, but also as paid options when individuals are ready to take it to a higher level.

4.)    Engagement – I get a lot of e-mails with comments, advice, appreciation and very useful opinions. I read all of them. However, i am the only one that gets to seee them (which is not very good). I want us to learn from each other and create a vibrant, resourceful community. One way for this to happen is for you to leave comments on the blog. At the end of each post, I will ask a question to create engagement, please take a few seconds to leave a comment on the blog. When others see it, it will create social proof and more people will benefit as a result of your contribution.

5.) Personal success / failures – Many have requested that I share personal, honest and practical stories about my successes and failures. Wish granted. I’ll talk more about my personal journey to where I am today, but bear in mind at < 30 years (a few months to  clock 30), your own story is as much an inspiration as mine too.

So, Welcome again to Mind and Mouth and thanks for being a part of this community.

Question: What other insight did you gain from these results and should I bribe you to leave comments on the blog?
