Many years ago while I was living in London I was afraid of going out of my house.
If you’ve heard my story before, you will understand why.
In fact one day, I left University of Birmingham to travel to London. I purchased my train tickets many days before, packed my bags and left for Birmingham New Street Train Station.
As I waited at the edge of train track platform, I started thinking about every possible thing that could go wrong on that trip. I became so afraid that I turned back to Uni and abandoned that trip.
I have been so afraid that I skipped school the day I was to win an award.
But Faith helped me overcome my fears.
Now married to an amazing woman and with a beautiful daughter the fear seems to have changed form. Concerns about Love, Family, being a good husband, A good father, having enough to take care of my family, getting and keeping a job, running a business, providing shelter, transport and security all coming at me at once.
What If fail at everything I have held so dear!
What if I am just not good enough!
Have you been there too?
That’s when I came across this song! I am no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God
Just yesterday I saw a miracle unfold right before my eyes. It brought tears to our eyes.
While I can’t tell you the entire story, here’s the snippet.
Someone asked to follow me to a client meeting. I agreed. Unknown to any of us, that meeting sparked the healing process of a long standing issue in his marriage. I saw how God can use the least expected person in unthinkable circumstances to heal others.
It was also a validation of some kind for me because, just a few days before yesterday, I had a leading to pray for this same person regarding peace in his family, but I couldn’t talk to him about it because our relationship was very professional and I did not want to cross boundaries.
It was just surreal to see God in action in a business environment! The healing process began and God used a client to kick-start it.
My take away is that when I am afraid, feel powerless and feeling stuck, God is at work, willing and ready to use everything at his disposal to get me out.
I can boldly declare, I’m no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God.
You split the sea, so I could walk right through it
My fears were drowned in perfect love
You rescued me, and I could stand and sing
I am a child of God
Those are the lyrics from this inspiring video.
